Hydrocraft foils
We’ve been quietly focused on refining our airfoils and developing a connection system that feels like a real step forward. It started with riding just about every foil we could get our hands on—from all the top brands. That hands-on R&D gave us a deep respect for what’s already out there, and a few ideas for how things could be pushed even further.
One area we saw room to improve was the wing-to-mast connection. Rather than adapt an existing system, we decided to build our own from the ground up. It’s been a collaborative process—working closely with our suppliers to dial in production-quality parts, getting them on the water, then heading back to the shop where Brodie and his dad, Scott, have spent countless hours refining and modifying parts for the next session.
We’re proud of where it’s headed. Early signs point to a connection that’s incredibly stiff, durable, and unlike anything currently on the market.
Our first 900cm² prototype has been getting great feedback from friends and family, and we’re excited to get more of them in the water soon. These foils have been tested against the best—and shaped by everything we’ve learned along the way.
Foil Connection System Features
- No threaded inserts in carbon parts – if a thread ever strips, the affected piece is easily replaced.
- Secure clamping power – three bolts lock the fuselage to the mast with roughly 5,000 lbs of evenly distributed clamping force.
- No tapered fits – parts slide together smoothly and separate easily, without the need for excessive force.
- Simple assembly – the entire system comes apart with just three screws.
- Stays tight over time – thanks to the clamping design, wear never results in a looser connection.
